We parked at P-terrein Valkenisseweg (Biggekerke, 4373 RW, near Strandweg Dishoek). As of 2025, the parking rate there is €2.00 per hour or €10.00 for a full day.
From this lot, a scenic walk through the dunes leads to Zoutelande’s beach in approximately 20 minutes, making it a convenient option if you’re up for a pleasant coastal stroll.
What to Eat
No trip to Zoutelande is complete without trying kibbeling—delicious chunks of fried fish served with a creamy garlic or tartar sauce. You’ll find it at the large beach pavilions or from takeaway stands, perfect for enjoying picnic-style right on the sand.
For a cozy dinner, we highly recommend ‘Eetcafé Royal’ in the heart of Zoutelande. The food is excellent, the heated terraces keep you warm even on breezy evenings, and the welcoming atmosphere makes it a spot you’ll want to linger.
When to Avoid the Crowds
Zoutelande is especially popular in July and August, when Dutch families flock to the coast for summer holidays. If you’d like a quieter experience, plan your trip in May–June or September. The weather is often still warm and sunny, the sea pavilions are open, and you’ll have plenty of space on the beach and dunes.
